Diana S-L Chow

Diana S-L Chow is Paula and John J Lovoi Endowed Professor in Drug Discovery and Development, Professor of Pharmaceutics, and Director of Institute for Drug Education and Research in the College of Pharmacy, as well as Professor of Biomedical Engineering, in the College of Engineering at the University of Houston (UH).  Chow’s research focus has been on biomedical translation of preclinical discovery to clinical therapy and clinical therapy optimization, employing her expertise in product formulation development, Pharmaco-kinetics/pharmacodynamics/ Pharmacogenetics (PK/PD/PG) during her 42-year tenure as faculty at UH since 1981.

Her research endeavors have resulted in an FDA approved product, Busulfex®, and multiple patents of developed formulations, currently in various stages of preclinical and clinical developments for treatments of liver, lung, pancreatic, and prostate cancers, as well as for neurological and pulmonary disorders. Chow was thus elected as Fellow of National Academy of Inventors in 2016.
