Marijn Lijffijt, PhD

Dr. Marijn Lijffijt, a neuropsychopharmacology PhD holder since 2004, has dedicated his career to uncovering underlying molecular and brain mechanisms of neuropsychiatric illnesses and finding treatments that act on those mechanisms. His expertise, honed as an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine, encompasses clinical research on a wide array of disorders, from ADHD to Gulf War Illness. Dr. Lijffijt’s work has been published in nearly 60 peer-reviewed publications and has been backed by funding from the Department of Defense, among others. His commitment to medical advancement is further evidenced by his decade-long service on the local IRB and his involvement in drug investigation initiatives. Transitioning from academia to industry, he joined Sage Therapeutics in 2022 and later a biotech startup, culminating in his current role as the COO of IonTX, where he hopes to continue to shape the future of precision medicine in patient care.
